Sometimes I let my thoughts, my anxiety, get the better of me and I worry/obsess over something way earlier than ever needed. The latest example of this has to be the renewal of Squeakative.org, which isn’t technically due until the 11th of September.[1. One month, three weeks away from when I’m writing this post.] I think that this round of anxiety was triggered by receiving an email from NameCheap[2. Would’ve been a referral link but they changed it.] about costs going up for .org renewals. Now, I’m just stressing out over the usual suspects…my health, the weather, monthly expenses.
The main issue, currently, with my health is weight loss. Over the past couple of months, I’ve unintentionally lost almost 40 pounds/18.14 kilograms. I’m still considered to be in a normal range according to the BMI chart, however the weight loss is paired with a lack of appetite and a family history of cancer, among other things. On Wednesday, I have an appointment with a GI doctor which will hopefully begin to provide answers to the whole stomach issues.
Away from the whole weight issue, I’ve recently started a new medication that’s supposed to help with my ADHD, or my complete inability to sit still and concentrate on a single task for more than a few minutes. So far it’s helping – I’m able to sit still for longer, and I’m not as jittery. However, the attention span has only increased to 30 minutes at the most…and honestly? I’m not sure how long one’s supposed to keep their attention on a topic/person.
At the time I’m writing this post, it’s currently 91°F/32.7°C in my apartment. Why? Because I can’t afford a new A/C and my current one needs charged. It wouldn’t be all bad if I didn’t live in a brick duplex and there wasn’t a heat advisory every other damn day.
After looking up the idiom “crying over spilled milk” which is used to describe unnecessary regret or frustration over past events that cannot be undone. It encourages focusing on the present and future rather than dwelling on minor or irreversible setbacks. It occurs to me that not a single part of this post has anything to do with it – and I just used it because it’s the first phrase that popped to mind. I honestly can’t think of a time that it would apply to my life, so I’m ending this post here.
