As much as I love “The Sound of Silence” by Simon & Garfunkel, it’s not the reason I chose to use it’s opening, and perhaps most famous, line as the title for the first post in Squeakative‘s forced revamp. I accidentally uninstalled a plugin wrong which caused my entire site to crash and for me to lose everything that I’d done up to that point. Sometimes, despite loving blogging so much, I feel like Sisyphus rolling his boulder up a hill for eternity. Yet like him, I continue to work on what seems to be a futile task but there’s a way we differ. I wasn’t cursed to work on my blog/website, even though at times that’s how it feels. Despite all of this, I still remain semi-excited to continue working on my blog/website. Although there are moments that I question why I ever decided to start that first GeoCities site, and what possessed me to want to blog. However, this is something I might examine in another post and for later. Now we move on to what’s going on in my snooze-inducing life.
In all honesty, there’s not much going on in my life. I’ve been attempting to clean house and become a bit more organized. I’m throwing away old magazines and clothes that don’t fit properly/have holes in them. However, I can only work on this for an hour or so a week due to my allergies. When I cleaned out my closet, which still isn’t finished to my satisfaction, I ended up with hives for over a week. Plus, there’s the frustration of trying on clothes that I like and discovering that they don’t fit anymore.
Beyond this the only other thing going on are doctor’s appointments and trying to raise the money each month to pay my Rent/Electric. They can both be summed up by one word, tedious. I’m debating if I want to sell foot pictures, even though I personally think my feet are ugly. 1
As for the doctor’s appointments, well, I’ve got an appointment on the 3rd of December to get an MRI, with and without contrast done. This will be my second one in 2025, and very important in my official MS diagnosis. 2 Back to my allergies which I mentioned earlier, I’m still getting monthly allergy shots and having virtually no reaction. I can’t decide if this is a good or bad thing, as a reaction only occurs in the event of contact. This month, I will possibly have to get a total of 3 shots as I’m going to ask about getting my flu shot.
Finally we need to circle back to the website/blog itself and what I’m expecting from myself. I’m expecting to add at least a post per week, and to have one section of the navigation finished by the end of 2025. I’m hoping to have an average of at least five comments per post before I have to renew in October 2026. I’m hoping to have a profile picture for all my social media accounts, including this website/blog, that I genuinely like. Conclusions are that I need to sit down and actually write a blog post when I decide to add a new one, I need to practice taking selfies to find my best angles, and I need to give myself a makeover…dye my hair, get a cute outfit, new makeup, etc. Also, I need to start visiting other blogs once again to get my blog/website visible in the world wide web. Easy, right?
I’m going to end this post here, as it’s almost four o’clock in the morning and I’m starting to get a headache. Also, I will work on figuring out categories and tags sometime this week, plus get the alignment of the signature figured out as well. I hope that this post finds you having a wonderful time, and that from me is a TTFN!
